A driver who does not speak Polish takes the health and safety induction in their own language, on a touch terminal at the gate, and finishes it by signing on the screen. The driver goes through it alone, with nobody explaining it in hand signals and without tying up any of your staff. An induction in a language the driver does not understand is a worthless formality that protects nobody, the employer included.
The induction in TraxSystem is available in eighteen driver languages, which covers most of the countries that loads to Polish plants come from.
Why a paper induction does not work for drivers from abroad
A signature under a text in a foreign language proves nothing. Formally the document exists, but the driver still does not know where the escape route is or what the speed limit is.
Explaining it in hand signals takes up security’s time and scales badly: at twenty vehicles a day it becomes a job in itself. Paper does not keep track of validity either, so a driver who was here last month either does the induction all over again or skips it entirely, because nobody remembers.
What the induction on a terminal looks like
- The driver chooses a language on the first screen, which shows flags instead of text.
- They go through the induction content prepared by your health and safety team, in the chosen language.
- They sign on the screen, and the signature is stored in the system together with the date and the version of the content.
- The system records how long the induction is valid and knows on the next visit whether it is still current.
In day-to-day work, the validity record makes the biggest difference. A driver who comes regularly does the induction once per set period, so handling takes less time and security does not have to check ‘whether they have done it already’.
Interrupting and resuming the induction
Sometimes a driver has to walk away halfway through the induction to move the vehicle. If they had to start from scratch on their return, by the third attempt they would click through the content without reading it. In TraxSystem an induction session can be interrupted and resumed within a set time window; once that window has passed, the session is cancelled automatically.
The H&S inductions module vs per-person e-learning
The H&S inductions module handles the introductory induction for a driver or visitor, linked to the entry log. That is what distinguishes it from e-learning bought per person, which covers an employee’s full periodic health and safety training. The module has a limit on the number of people inducted per year, which grows with the size of the base package, and the amounts for each tier are on the pricing page.
What TraxSystem does not do with health and safety inductions
A missing or expired induction does not block entry on its own. TraxSystem shows whether the induction is valid, and blocking is set by an access rule or by the operator’s decision. The system was designed that way: an automatic block would stop an emergency vehicle or punish a typo in the driver’s details.
The system does not write the induction content. Your health and safety team prepares it, and the system presents it, translates the interface and records that the induction was completed. Nor does it check whether the driver understood the content: it records completion and the signature, and how the content is built and whether there is a knowledge test is your decision.
The mechanism described above does not define the scope of your legal obligations. Who has to complete an induction and how often follows from Polish health and safety regulations and your own risk assessment; confirm it with your health and safety team.
Questions and answers
How many languages does the induction work in?
Eighteen. The site prepares the induction content in its own language, and the system creates the translations into the other languages at the press of a button in the induction editor. Machine translation has to be reviewed before use, because the driver signs exactly what they see on the screen.
Does a signature on the screen count as evidence?
Whether it carries weight in particular proceedings is for a lawyer to judge, not the system supplier. The signature is stored together with the date, the time and the version of the content the driver saw.
Does the terminal have to be at the gate?
No, but that is where it usually stands, because the induction should come before entry to the site. The location is agreed during implementation.
